1. Yes there was a 100% legitimate criticism of Bush. That being that his policies work against the welfare of poor people. He is so busy waging war on other countries and cutting taxes for his rich crony friends that it has become a necessity to cut programs that help the poorest people in the US.

That is the criticism that I heard, and it is 100% legitimate. The fact is half of the country resents this about Bush and thank God someone had the guts to say it. The fact that Bush is a class warrior is only lost on the rich whose taxes he is cutting.

2. Funerals are meant to honor the person that has passed away. If they are a person with a cause, King and Welstone were it is IMO completely appropriate to comment on the state of affairs of their cause.

Someone said Bush was damned if he did and damned if he didn't go. And that is exactly as it should be as long as his policies are so slanted against the poor.
