Smoking pot is a form of an attack against society because of its effects, and because of the criminal industry that makes it available. I can think of worse things, but I still think it's an attack. So I am disagreeing with your argument.

I don't think pot should be made legal for those very same reasons. Hemp fiber might have some legitimate uses, but not if there is a street drug by-product. Bona fide medical use of the active ingredient might be acceptable if it is treated as a controlled substance like other legitimate narcotic medicines.

For what it's worth, the law enforcement arm of my former employer claimed that it interdicted more pot than the FBI and the DEA combined. I've personally seen little mini-pot farms out in the woods, and heard of others.

Like you, I have NEVER smoked pot and would not if it were legalized.
