Chirac did not condemn violence even though it should be condemned. He is much more politically astute than the Texan cowboy. Like Chirac, he could have been more politically astute by asking both parties to exercise more responsibility.

But how can Bush be the man to speak on the violence issue when his own military's presence in Iraq is the principal cause of violence in Iraq? If he removes the military from Iraq, the violence will disappear. Unlike fear monger Cheney's claim that terrorists will take over Iraq.

France is not sucking upto the US. Instead along with Germany and Russia, he is providing US the lead on the Iran issue.
