According to attorney Jon Kreucher, (former Comcast regional counsel in Michigan), in order to avoid the high cost of typical Super Bowl ads, Comcast rented all restroom signage at Detroit's Ford Field for Super Bowl XL last weekend. In case you're curious, that amounts to 680 panels creating 160,000 "impressions." An excited Barrett Davie, CEO for InStadium (the owner of the panel locations)said, "This media campaign's breakthrough execution will not only engage the game-day Super Bowl fan in an entirely new manner, but it will not 'break the bank.'" In order to avoid the chance that it is simply flushing money, Comcast's ads will feature copy such as "go with the flow" and "you can pause the game while you pause for whatever."
