Are you disputing the % rates I posted? I trusted this information. If you disagree then where are the errors?
It is true that those that employ pay an equal rate to those they employ. In other words, self employed pay 2x the rate.
The figures I posted were meant to point out the percentage rate increase over a specified time interval. It should be plain to see how much the rate increased over time and which years had the greatest percentage rise.
Our government has the ability to adjust these rates as they see fit. The fact these rates have been, largely, held in check the last ten years is questionable considering so much heated discussion is spent on the inevitable and expected 'baby boomer' consumption depletion rate moving forward. If the politicians are so concern, which I sincerely doubt, then why not just raise the tax rates enough to offset this expected future depletion rate at a marginable and yet manageable level?. They would rather argue and twist the facts for their own 'party' gains. It would appear,at least to me,our leaders rather choose to discuss the matter rather than to effect any specific changes that will only make it easier for everyone in the end. Because, inevitably in the end the rates will only move higher anyway, but those still paying into the system will be largely the ones shouldering the burden. The baby boomers,at least more than a few, might get off on the cheap,or at least cheaper proportionately to others as a class.
As for those, lucky and fortunate enough to forge their own way in life and not find themselves in need of our entitlement program-good for them, but leave the check at the door anyway. Everyone must pay. The system was set up this way. It is capped at a respecting tier just below $90,000,(today)pegged by an inflation index, for all,and will be available for all who pay in regardless of income level. The system works although not without her critics. Left to their own discord some would simply choose not to save at all and run the risk of have nothing available to draw on in later years. That would have a much larger impact on society and our financial system.
These clowns we send to bid our work do little to effect sensible change. Twisted facts and fiqures seem do more far more. Fear works well. Ask our youth today how confident they are on Social Security being their for them in later years and you will see the results of fear and twisted facts.
All in my opinion. |
