Good points. This type of discussion is the one that should be elevated for public debate and scrutiny. It would help a lot if we could shift the discussion away from the personalities of politicians long enough to come to a consensus of what we want and how best we think we should go about getting it. Then shift it back on to the politicians we believe would be best at leading us to accomplishing the tasks at hand.

It complicates things unnecessarily to form political camps without even having well founded principles and goals that distinguish those camps and us as Americans.

If you disagree with some Administration policy, for example, it shouldn't matter whether Bush or Clinton is administrating it.
