I did a quick study of Portec
Rail Products.

Portec is profitable over the last 4 years. With 2005 earnings of track to beat 2004 earnings by 30%. After looking at the 3q2005 10-q financial statements, I predict Portec's full year 2005 earnings of $1.00 up from last years $.69.

Portec's business of checking the strength on rails and tracks is important to the RRs and something the bigger RRs will continue to contract out to Portec. So as the RRs spend more $$$s on track maintenance, Portec will get a share and become even more profitable.

I did not have time to check into Portec's recent acquisitions.

That is my quick read on Portec.
