Inspector Gadget~

just read this on "Wired News"
and it made me think of you. <g>

i've thought about this before
when i've watched people working
out in gyms -- there's a hi-tech biz
that i sometimes pass by on my way
to the city -- and the
whole bottom floor of the building
is full of various equipment for their
staff to work out on during breaks
and in the evenings.

all that energy disappearing into
undirected machines....
seems like a waste of good watts,
doesn't it?

i once saw a guy on tv who had built
an alternative house of some kind
(think it was cordwood construction)
and he had rigged up 2 bicycles that
his kids had to ride to generate electricity
to watch television.
he said he had no problem with them
watching tv, so long as they made their
own energy for doing so....
guess that would eliminate the
problem of the kids becoming
a couple of couch potatoes. <g>
