JDN, The Hispanic presence in Texas, and New Mexico, are different than that in Florida. Here, there are the Cubans, and Puerto Ricans, but there the vast majority are from the Mexican hispanics. In Texas, I had many friends among, what we, and they called Tex-Mex people, and you will find them cordial, honest, and for the most part, hard working. I'm not so sure about the younger generation though. If you like it, they make the best Mexican food in the country.

Las Crucic is, or was, not that big of a city, and has a dry, desert, type of weather. What the heck, it's almost part of Texas anyway. :^)
