However, scientific experts also have the global warming effect as a fairly plausible scenario, and I am sure they are considering a large number of variables.

In any case, the arctic ice melting is a verifiable observation.

But you never hear them talk about the oceanic crust, subduction and what happens to all the beasties involved. Without thinking it through, they are Gaia fan club members. They think Earth loves us, if only we will be nice to it. They can't imagine that Gaia is actually suicidal and happy to take us with it unless we yank the reins and put a stop to the MADness.>
