The press effectively bundles all Muslims into the same bag of fear and loathing. I don't think it is always intentional but when I watch News shows that is what I see; fear about what the Muslims are trying to force upon the free world. Everyone knows, or should know, that when you create fear, the reaction to dealing with fear is very often anger and violence toward the object of fear. The peaceful alternative is objective communication, open to real resolutions that lead to autonomous living. Polarized political rhetoric wont get us there.
