A real estate crash is not foreordained IMO:

In times of uncertainty and with an ocean of paper money, for every gold buyer there will be about 10 for real estate.

Many or most real estate holders (including me) will fight like crazy to hold onto what they have. For the majority of the population, it could well be the only sense of security that they have.
