The Dallas Morning News had a story this morning on the increased number of assaults on immigration officers along the US-Mexican border. The agents in more remote areas go out to patrol on their own, wondering how long it will take backup to reach them if a group of guys pop up and start filling their patrol car with bullet holes.

Made me think about all the money and troops in Iraq that could have been used defending our own borders against actual threats.
