If there isn't a huge reaction in the West to the Iranian cartoon, possibly that will help alleviate their pain when they realize the West truly puts a value on expression, even expression that's admittedly extremely rude.

My hunch is there will be a lot of verbal protest to the cartoons, and virtually zero violence. Iran will look like fools, and the Muslims will see how normal civilized people express their objection to offensive material.

"Alleviate their pain"? It's a bunch of cartoons which they don't have to read, there is nothing painful about it. They should grow up.

On a different note, this doesn't make any sense to allow:

ARAB BIZ MAY RUN NYC PORT

The city's ports, considered a major target of terrorists, are about to be taken over by a firm based in the United Arab Emirates, a country with financial links to the Sept. 11 hijackers.

Hmmm, that should be OK unless you believe the entire country is in favor of terrorism. Doesn't make much sense for the UAE to buy a New York port and then blow it up when they are the owners!
