You know the GOP is in bad shape when Newt has a chance to be the 2008 nominee. Bring it on. Newt would lose by a landslide. He's much more polarizing and unpopular than Hillary Clinton will ever be. Though I must say, he is more honest than the current rightwingers in power who have taken corruption and lying to new low levels we haven;'t seen in our lifetimes.

I don't see it that way. To me, its the GOP bringing out the heavy guns. I am not sure the American public really gets what's going on in DC. I think to too many of them it's simply business as usual and they are ignoring it. I think the GOP knows that and is acting accordingly.
