Thanks. So far McCain and Hagel interest me on the Republican side with Warner and maybe Biden on the Democratic side. Biden is a character and smart as a whip but his mouth often outruns his brain cells, and I think he has some impulse control issues.

As, of course, does McCain. I continue to think neither McCain nor Hagel are likely to get the Rep nomination, though McCain seems to be doing everything possible to make up with the present GOP establishment. It still looks to me as if the Rove attempt to energize the base has driven the national republican establishment so far right that the primaries will take care of anyone they don't support.

Given that, I think George Allen and Brownback (is it Sam?) are the most likely winners of the primaries. That is barring some unforeseen candidates such as Condi Rice and/or Jeb Bush.

On the Dem side, I can't see Biden winning enough primaries.

But I can change my mind on a dime in this. It's too far out to get too firm and all is volatility.
