If you discover that your system is not getting you out at the right times OR you are not following it's sells, you need to develop another exit.

I found this in your April post as I am reading all I can on TA to learn; and this seemed like a nice place for a question on this notion.

EXAMPLE ONLY; not a real system test <g>

Buy -> Formula DNS
Sell -> Formula StochRSI(14)

What I illustrate is one 'could' come up with a formula that times the entry correctly, but needs a different formula to really get out at the proper time. I was thinking that a system would need the same formula indicators for entry and exit and your thought on this kind of triggered something in me to think about this. I have been playing around here with system tests and noticing the charts for some code I put in is showing positive signs on entry, but exit is WAY TOO QUICK to be profitable. Using your statement of finding the right formula for exit could be that I need a completely different formula for exiting and then back to the drawing boards to see if the system test with the entry and NEW exit work the way I trade to be profitable.

Thank you.

Tim
