Actually I wrote that I didn't know who's definition was correct, the definition that the Austrians put forth or the more generally accepted definition of inflation:

I do know that one can measure under either definition and come up with intertemporal measurements that are reasonably accurate. The problems and disagreements arise when various definitions are mixed within the same model.
