I cut my gasoline use by about 30%. We all must try. I have a high-mileage small gasoline car but will buy whatever the best clean fuels car is next. Kerry-McCain's 2002 CAFE standards bill was lobbied against and defeated by Bushies. It would have improved fuel efficiency greatly and saved us more oil than we could possibly get from all of Alaska. Bush-Cheney personally lobbied to defeat it and Cheney poo-poo'ed the idea of conservation. Democrat Bill Richardson was the first governor to close down his border with Mexico. Bush stated clearly in his State of the Union that he supports illegal immigration and cheap labor for his big ranch and factory owner friends to exploit. Neither party has a coherent plan on this issue. Democrats have very coherent plans on just about every issue. Bushies have almost no coherent or honest plans for any issue.
