You again show your incredible ignorance when it comes to guns. You are basing "statements" without any facts.

What was the shell? What was the size of the pellets? What was the powder charge in drams?

How do you know it was "hundreds of pellets?" Do you know how many pellets are in a 28 gauge shell with 3/4 to 1 oz of shot? Do you know the number of pellets will be different with different sizes of shot? Do you know anything of the ft-lbs of energy left in a shot pattern 40 - 45 inches wide at 30yds?

It is doubtful he was near death.

Now, was it wrong, careless, and reckless? I'd say so. I know that I'd be a bit pissed if I got shot by a hunting buddy, but it happens hundreds of times a year.
