According to the above post, maybe the thing to be careful about is avoid any dual passport from a foreign country or in the case where there is no dual passport not to mention where your ancestors came from.

I know the country where some of my ancestors are from, one of the citizens from that country jokingly told me I had better not tell customs my ancestors are from there, because they would not let me leave because they'd make me a citizen of that country. I said to him, you're obviously kidding. He said, there was a time when his comment would have applied and he warned that you never know how things might change. He said they like to get their people back.
