And I that you acknowledged.

My wife and I have brought our older kids and now bring our younger kids to D.C. each spring for a few years. We spend a few days mostly walking the Mall of War Memorials and other sites letting them soak in some of our heritage and look through some windows into our struggle for liberty paid for in human currency. I have photos of all of JFK's words carved in stone at his grave at Arlington. As well as those of Lincoln, Jefferson and others.

My respect is deep because they were there and faced down the tigers the world had unleashed in their day.

Amazing, one photo of the Vietnam Wall and a hand scribbled note that tell's of a life saved by one whose life was lost. Are they just letters, names detached of history etched upon the black granite, or are they a portal to profound understanding? Words on a white envelope that were wetting with the rain and moments away from being lost to all eyes with a single white rose aside it 40 rows beneath the name upon it.
It read:

"Captain John Marshall Yates died
while saving my life.
Thank you Captain.
Dave Bishop"

There are many noble people who make this journey through life with us. It helps to remember this especially when tigers roar in the cover of darkness.

You may quote me-
