I think the description of what happened is confusing to those who don't hunt. The secret service allowing anyone near the veep with a gun is a constant problem and concern I am sure and in a hunting situation I am sure it makes them very uneasy.

I know cheney did not deliberately shoot the dude, but by the same token, how in the world he got in front a barrel of a shotgun is hard to believe. If he got in the way of cheney swinging through his shot as he followed the bird, it makes sense, but coming up from behind him makes no sense.

I think the description they have given, in order to cover for cheney, has muddied the waters and, again, made the administration look like they are covering for something. Why not just admit cheney screwed up and took a shot with a guy down range? It happens every hunting season. Why these people need to shade the truth once they are elected confuses me.

It just makes people like me think they are all liars at that level of the gov't.
