My mother got her degree in journalism back before the War. She told of a class in which someone burst through the door and shot the professor. After a respectable period of pandemonium, the professor got up and said: "OK, write a news story about what you just saw."

Nobody in the class got the facts right.

Mom worked in the field only for a short time. Her singing talent was much greater than her journalism expertise.

And of course, she met a handsome Marine. My Dad.
