You are most assuredly incorrect with that statement Brian. ALL leaders at some point move in opposite direction of the markets at some point.

GOOG was leading many higher all the while the broader markets fell. Now with negative catalysts, GOOG is languishing. Nothing has changed in the way of GOOG leadership in the way of business model or presence. The ONLY thing that has changed is valuation that was ahead of itself. Nothing more.

Fairly priced does not mean loss of leadership. I do believe, like you, that it is priced to perfection given what we know today ... and could fall further based on 06 valuation. But what we don't know is the future.

Stocks like GOOG need this type of pull back to restore reality and serve as a foundation for another run. It was going to happen at some point. Eventually this will be another very strong opportunity. And if things get worse from here, another opportunity yet. But nothing has changed fundamentally about their leadership position. Not yet.
