I agree with what you have stated but would like to make a clarification of one point.

1. Service / spares: I have no factual basis for estimating this. Rumours indicate that lasers fail more frequently than Hg lamps. Spares will be required to service an ever growing base of lasers.

Hg lamps for projection aligners and gh-line steppers burn out much faster than DUV lasers. They are changed out monthly or even biweekly.

If we are referring to the Hg Lamps associated with i-line steppers and the likes of Micrascans, the timeframe is slightly longer. If indeed that DUV Lasers peter out faster, that is a very expensive proposition resulting in lots of downtime and cost related to system uptime and time to colliminate the laser. I cannot say you are wrong in your statement but I hope that you are in error here.
