You kill me.

I would guess that this change has more to do with Intel having a problem projecting chip availability. A supplier is responsible for letting their customers know what is going to be available to them, and in what quantities.

Anyway, as a customer who ordered the MacBook Pro with a 1.83GHz processor, I don't feel like the pipeline has been "screwed up" by Apple's decision to ship it with a 2.0GHz processor instead. It definitely feels like an upgrade to me.
