Al Qaeda was never in Iraq. Who heads Al Qaeda in Iraq now? A: Zarqawi Where was he before the US invaded Iraq? A: Baghdad Where did the Al Qaeda affiliate Ansar al Islam operate before the US invaded Iraq: A: Northern Iraq Which is not to inquire whethere Zarqawi's funds have any connections with the billions the Baathists squirreled away in Amman and Damascus (intelligence says they do).
