Microsoft has a newer version of the "AntiSpyware" program.
It is now called "Windows Defender (Beta 2)". I learned about it in the Feb. 14, 2006, Vol. 3, No. 2 issue of the Microsoft Security Newsletter.

go.microsoft.com

Download requires "Genuine Check" for valid MS, and it can be installed without un-installing Microsoft AntiSpyware. The install will do that automatically.

I installed it on three computers running XP-SP2. No issues.

Oh, Microsoft FINALLY fixed the download issue associated with one of todays Critical updates, KB131446, that I mentioned earlier. That was a real PIA.
