1974 to about 2004, in about 30 years the Columbia and other glaciers have shrunk to half their current size, and it's accelerating. It's alarming and it's mostly because of man-made industrial burning of fossil fuels and pollutants, the kind Bushies lobby for. But now even Bushies admit man-made global warming has happened and is getting worse. Only a few oil lobbyists and diehard gas guzzlers deny it.
