If you think that the Bush administration and its policies are the salvation of America and the world at large, this thread is not for you. If you believe that Bush is leading a giant neocon conspiracy to take over America and the rest of the world, this thread is not for you.

This thread will focus on the moderate 20-30% of the American electorate (maybe less on SI) who shun blind partisanship and the hate-filled politics that go with it. We will poke fun at the foibles of the hardcore right and left, and showcase efforts to preserve and build a viable political center.

When I stopped by your thread I carefully read the above two paragraphs. It looked fair enough to me. What I have found is a number of posters who slant against Bush et al in nearly every post. Fine. Freedom of expression and all that. The problem arises when someone questions them on their comments or views. That is deemed unacceptable. DB, your intentions are good, but your thread rules are not being followed. Consequently, in spite of your efforts to have a "centered" discussion etc. you are fed a one sided blast at Bush et al.

You have spoken out about the importance of a moderate approach to politics and wondered whether we will ever see that again. Any reasoned debate has pretty much been hijacked by the radical elements of the two major parties. The internet has magically created an endless array of political experts!

I don't know whom you consider to be "centered" folk on your thread but some certainly do not follow paragraph number two above. Maybe I am one. I await your word.

As thread "Boss", you get to decide what to do. And, all with no raise in salary. <g>
