It was an amazing time to come of age. It was, indeed, an amazing time. The first protest I ever engaged was the one that forbid slacks for women on campus. My trainer protest. I never encountered a gloves and hats issue until I married an Air Force officer. Needless to say, I was not an asset to my husband's career. It's a shame that things progressed to the point where we now have to have signs requiring shirts and shoes in restaurants, but on balance that aspect of life is dramatically better now that linen is incomprehensible. <g>
