Hey, I love a good cracking - I mean realignment. If I lived closer to my chiropractor I'd be there every day. I've done hundreds of backs myself (actually I start at the fingers and toes and work inward), no formal training, but I've got the magic touch and I'm not as brutal as a chiropractor (since I don't have an office full of patients and doing it for money) I use the gentle slow method and mix massage and realignment.
Myself, I'm an avid Inversion Boot freak. I've done it since about '82, except for a couple years off after I ruptured my achilles in '90. I do one legged inversion and stretch the other leg, back, etc. I'm never just hanging there still for more than a couple of seconds. Every joint in my body cracks at some time or another and I'm constantly realigning myself. Partly because I've got myself so loosened up that doing just about anything puts me back out, (especially doing dishes or sitting on the floor) and since I know what it feels like to be aligned, I absolutely hate being out and am acutely aware of it when it happens. Most people don't know what it feels like to be in alignment, so they don't know how miserable they really are. Of course after they get realigned by chiros, they feel great, until the next day when things tighten up again and go out of alignment again, and then they really feel like crap because they have tasted the good life and now know what they are missing. You guys are addictive, better than drugs, it's also great for repeat business! Crack, huh, sounds like a drug to me......
