All gun safety clases tell you not to mix alcohol and guns.

I understand that alcohol is a safety factor. What I'm wondering is how alcohol or the absence of alcohol affects the political story. Does alcohol turn an accident into a crime? Or maybe it's that lying about alcohol in a police statement is a crime. And then I suppose there's the character issue. I'm out of my experience base here, being neither a drinker nor a hunter.

As for the safety issue, I've never shed a tear over any hunter getting shot. Unless the shooter was drinking surreptitiously and the victim not aware, I don't see how alcohol would make my tear ducts any more productive.
