McCarthy persecuted millions who weren't "commies", and the definition of "commie" itself was a dishoinestly spun term. Kind of like Bushies not spin anyone who's anti Bush or Iraq War (most of the country now) as being "anti-American". Same dishonest device exploiting false patriotism.
In the old days "socialism" or "communism" had nothing to do with the enemy Soviet Union, it had to do with the unions, safe work places, fair wages, minimum wages, a stop to indentured servitude, the plight of the Okies, frm-workers, mine workers, etc. It was the workingman's blues basically with working Americans from red and blue states, black or white, alike agreed was a just cause.
for instance Johnny Cash grew up ona cooperative farm in Arkansas. Everything was shared. He grew up fairly happy though it was a tough life. That is communism in its ideal sense. Everyone sharing and helping each other. But in Bush-Cheney's world, the rich don't share with anyone.
The Soviets took communist ideals and warped them into a military police state dictatorship where workers had NO RIGHTS and were just slaves of the state elite. So they became almost the opposite of original communism. That is the failure of communism. It always morphed into a dictatorship which was closer to fascism.
Anotehr point, no one has done more for communist China than the Bushie industrial elite. They ship our jobs there and they borrow money from China too and spend it, giving the working class the debt.
Actually the Bushie philsophy is closer to Soviet style communism. Look around. Bushies are trying to strip almost all rights from workers. Including things like mine safety standards in West Virginia and pollution standards. Not to mention health care and pensions. The county Cheney shot the guy in BELONGS TO one woman crony of his. She owns the law there. They all work for her basically. That is the Bushie ideal, where the lite old money landowners and CEO class control everything and get most of the rewards, then let a little trickle down once in awhile.
McCarthy was an extremist nut, a liar, an hateful fanatical un-American traitor and a fascist. He did not stand up for the ideals of any of the founding fathers, none of them. And he dealt mostly in lies, fear-mongering and extremist scape-goating. His real enemy was the American workingclass. |
