There is certainly more to this story. You are probably right that this is not a dusting.

The more I think about it, if he really got hit with 200, he should have been killed. The way the patterns disperse does not allow a hit with that many pellets unless the target is hit in the working range of the load. 50% of the load would indicate a hit in that 15-25 yard range max. Then again, it just does not add up for me, as a hit to the head in the working range of the load could have pierced the skull and brain and caused death very quickly.

If the target was outside that 15-25 yard range then NO WAY 200 pellets would have found the target unless Dead-Eye-Dick had him directed centered in the shot pattern.

Something is foul here.
