No. But a stripped 9 will boot a little faster than a stripped X which will, in my guess, boot faster than W2K or XP.

W2K numerous boot windows and fake progress bars are annoying.

X is way solid though. Way nicer than any other OS. I'm still annoyed by the dock but otherwise it's beautiful OS. Linux is second best. Windows is the worst.
