Backwards Compatible? HMMM, Why don't we flip this around. There seems to be so much rah, rah for this LS-120 product as the Zip beater, why don't you tell us how it is going to beat the zip based on:

1. The industry has already proven that backward compatibility is not an issue (i.e. 8" to 5.25" to 3.5")

2. The LS-120 has a limited capacity ceiling for where it can go.

3. Why would any OEM in their right mind bundle an expensive ($200+) drive in their machine compared to a Zip that by the time the LS-120 finally releases will be available to OEMs for $99 or less?

4. Cross platform? Some may say not really an issue because of the low mac platform market share (but look at the recent announcement that Apple is slashing their research budgets -- read between the lines)

5. No information about software bundles to help users manage their information.

6. Marketing done by committee.

7. Competitive OEMs supporting CPQ if they choose the LS-120.

8. Millions of installed Zips already in the market.

9. OEM agreements with IBM, PB, Apple, Micron, Acer, and others?

10. Having a vendor that can supply high end (Jaz) low end (Zip) laptop (zip and potentially JAZ), cross-platform products (Zip/Jaz) backup (Ditto) and future products in R&D all in one place that an OEM could arrange deals that would keep the costs of their peripherals competitive.

11. Oh, one last one -- speed?

These are just the basic questions that any product marketing neophyte would have to answer before even getting to the details. So, tell us Zip bigots why the LS-120 is a better product. The argument of backward compatibility is weak at best.
