<<Then one Monday morning I learned that one of them had turned following a bird and fatally shot his best friend through the heart with a 22lr at short range. It was a few days before he was in class at all. Not a friend of mine, but I still remember a brief eye contact with him that day. Mournful and tormented don't begin to define it. Had it mattered, I can confidently say he was incapable of doing an interview with the media even at that point.>>

<Now that a high profile accidental shooting has occurred, the prime story is that Geraldo Rivera was not contacted instantaneously.>>

The story of how the story was released is now the story... and the story itself has become a judgement on Cheney as a person. For instance Someone mentioned "Cheney having a drink after shooting a guy," Or 'getting sloshed', or comparing it to something much more severe than an accident:

The potential contextual formulations possible in a 'reinactment" of the incident and aftermath are mindboggling. The way our mind works, each and every one of us has his own picture in his/her mind!!! Our reality of that situation is RADICALLY SUBJECTIVE, and NOT THE TRUTH:

The ultimate truth is only available to the experiencer at that moment.

The only way to truley understand Cheney, is to BE CHENEY. That is the real meaning behind "leave judgement to me sayeth the lord"... understanding that what you don't experience can't possibly be the whole truth... that realization is the substrate of compassion. The ramifications of not being aware that the pictures we conjur up are not reality, lack current context, and in fact are partly based on previous belief, is profound.

Of course most media isn't interested in context, truth, compassion [In fact CONTEXT would result in most viewers going outside for a walk and getting exercise no doubt]. I'm NOT blaming the media (it's probably simply and example of our society), BUT there is no way to get anywhere near the truth without context... and everyone knows the way media works (TV, magazines, whatever) is the 'sound bite'... so really how much truth can there be? What can you do?? Stop paying attention. LOL
