Mr Ken Murton reports
The company has entered into a series of exclusive one-year distribution agreements with 20 independent office equipment dealers in the US that promise BCB minimum product revenue of $2 million. Combined with recent distribution deals made with CLM Sales of Atlanta, Georgia and YDC Digital Corp of Seoul, South Korea, BCB has garnered product sales commitments from channel partners totalling more than $3 million for fiscal 1998 (October 1 1997 to September 30 1998). Each of the 20 dealers signing the one-year agreements with BCB have experience selling digital dictation equipment. They gain the exclusive right to sell BCB's full line of digital dictation, recording and voice logging systems to specific regional markets in the US not covered by BCB's previous distribution agreement with CLM Sales. This includes BCB's recently released PC Talk voice e-mail and personal voice logging software and NetBoard voice compression sound card. In return, each dealer has agreed to sell an annual minimum of $100,000 in BCB products. The collective deal gives BCB considerable sales momentum for fiscal 1998. For the nine months ended June 30 1997, the company had total revenues of just over $1.1 million. When the company's channel partners' minimum sales commitment of $3 million is added to the current $400,000 work-in-progress and backorders that the company's subsidiary, Granville Research, has in hand, it is possible to see why the company expects fiscal 1998 to be a breakthrough year.
