McCarthy ruined thousands of innocent lives and persecuted millions of innocent people. Alger Hiss was a single case. Means nothing. Sure the Soviets had some spies in the US and they needed to be weeded out. But were a whole section of American society "traitors" or "threats" or "communists"? Of course not. McCarthy was totally full of it. In fact, he was evil and un-American. And so are you if you support a return to those dark times when anyone with a differing opinion was deemed a "traitor" and destroyed. You should also have your head examined if you take anything Anne Couter says seriously. She's a wack job.
