Too true. These young conservatives never personally got to see Nixon abuse his power. All they get is conservative revisionist history as distorted by Rush, Coulter, and the rest of the Know Nothings. Things like how great McCarthy was, and how we could have won the Vietnam war. No wonder they're so misinformed and misguided. Cheney is certainly a modern day Nixon. He believes that the ends justify the means, and has no patience for free speech, transparency in government, or the press. When all the rocks are uncovered, I'm betting he'll be putting the Colson gang into a distant abuse-of-power-and-dirty-tricks second place... However, what is most disturbing is how these young conservatives are being completely miseducated as to the purpose and power of the Constitution. They continually view the Constitution as simple law, and therefore completely miss its point. When they eagerly talk of adding an marriage amendment to the Constitution, you know they haven't the foggiest idea what the framers intended. Sad, and dangerous for the future of democracy.
