Aside from the Great One, Ronald Reagan, I have no heroes in politics.

However, I do find the ignorance about Joe McCarthy fascinating. It has enlightened me about how political propaganda can control thought.

McCarthy's brash demeanor, tactics and lifestyle are subject to deserved criticism. But such criticism doesn't obviate the fact that he was right. And that is a proven fact.
