Because the US does not want to increase the level of pollution in the air and on the ground at home, the US has been outsourcing a significant amount of manufacturing to China and elsewhere. To be sure, the US is not spontaneously turning China out to be an economic power for nothing.

I don't share your view that Russia and China will be acting in cahoots to dominate the world. Maybe Russia. But China, no.

China's history has shown she is not interested in expansionism and is more concerned with defending herself. (Recall the Great Wall of China). However, the humiliation that China had endured in the 1800s and early 1900s under foreigners simply because she lacked modern military weapons will cause the China to keep on arming herself to the teeth so that history will not repeat itself.

IMO, China and Russia are not really of one mind. Nixon realized this and that's why he sought detente with Mao --- a detente which helped in weakening the former USSR.

As for the US not forcing China to revalue the Renminbi (Yuan), the US is really not in a position to do so without suffering unpleasant consequences as China has bought a sizeable chunk of US debt. What if China were to sell off her holdings of US debt in a hurry? However, to China's credit, China has made a token valuation (with more to come, hopefully) of her currency based on a basket of currencies that includes the Euro.
