They want us out Hawk--not all of them and of course the tragedy is the ones who bet on us will get screwed when we leave just like in VN.

As you point out, some DO want us to leave. Zarqawi would LOVE for us to leave with our tails between our legs.

The Badr Corps and MAS supporters would ALSO love to see that.

And the FRE and Sunni tribal leaders who dream of once again dominating the country would ALSO love to see us leave.

But stuck in the middle of all of these powerful factions are MILLIONS of Arabs and Kurds who have no desire to see these militant and tyrannical factions dominate their lives.

And there are millions of children's futures at stake here.

But once again, if the government asks us to leave, then we should.

If there is a "Vietnam" scenario here, I want it to be one of the government's taking responsibility for being an honest broker for ALL Iraqis, rather than one where we abandoned the average Iraqi to their fates with the militants.

I can't think of anything more humiliating to the prestige of the US in that region than leaving before we're asked to.

Not to forget the manner in which the Liberal morons will suddenly start launching attacks upon the current administration for abandoning Iraq to civil war.

The media and the nation will quickly forget that it was the Liberals who advocated "cutting and running".
