Some nut job webb site has called the range 15-18 feet(revised up from a previous 10 foot claim). So I
did some more shooting with the 20 gauge and #8 shot at 18 feet. In two shots, the maximum spread was 4 1/2" with the bulk of the shot in about a 2" circle. Did the same with a 12 gauge 7 1/2 shot and found the spread to be closer to 6" with a somewhat bigger center than the 20 gauge.

I did take the 30 yard shot with the 20 gauge and 8 shot. The impact zone seemed to be less severe with the 8's and there were 68 pellets in my water filled target. The impact was probably less due to the fact that I only hit about half the target...kindly, don't pass that part on....;>)
