I agree with most of the tenets of the article.

However, he ignores the fact that fuel cells can use ethanol as a direct fuel, it does not have to be converted to hydrogen to be used.

An interesting point from our general discussion is that by first converting from gasoline to ethanol for the internal combustion engine, we are laying the groundwork toward conversion to a fuel cell based transportation system.

Ethanol has problems, in general it seeks water, it will absorb water even from the atmosphere, this makes for many problems in storage and pipeline shipments.
