We should compile a list of the code phrases that signal rhetorical tricks and misdirection - "they only care about" and "they don't care about" are two virtually guaranteed indicators that a self-serving distortion or outright lie will follow. "They don't have any ideas about" is another. The sad thing is how many instances we now confront where partisans don't want to debate the merits of an issue; they just trot out all the rhetorical gizmo BS to demonize the other side and proclaim themselves the winner by default. Because if your opponent doesn't care about an issue and has no ideas, he must be lower than whale crap, right? ;<)
