The better cigar companies got run out of Cuba when the communists took over. They found a new home in Dominica. Now those brands are coming out of Cuba as well, for sale everywhere but here. I've read, however, that the quality control in Cuba is no longer consistent compared to the companies in Dominica. A few years ago someone in my company traveled to Hong Kong and brought me back a Cuban Partagas. One of the best cigars I ever smoked...
