the dogmatic angry liberals have much more in common with their angry conservative counterparts, than they do with me Fer sure. But these are not the woolly, wishy-washy, flip-flopping liberals of common parlance. The serious point I'm trying to make, hidden in mockery, is that it is almost by definition a 'liberal weakness' to want to hear and understand the opposing POV. There are of course plenty of LW fundamentalists, but these tend not to be so very liberal (in the classical sense of tolerant, understanding, generous) in their views.
